Temperature hits 36 degrees Celsius as heat wave sweeps Beijing

Beijng's average daytime temperature in July is around 31 degrees Celsius, according to Ai Wanxiu, a specialist with the China Meteorological Administration. The highest daytime temperature in recent memory was reported in 1999, hitting 42 degrees Celsius.
