5.5-magnitude quake hits Taiwan region, USGS

BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted Taiwan region at 01:08:33 GMT, 09:08:33 Beijing Time, on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 8.00 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 22.3864 degrees north latitude and 121.4447 degrees east longitude.
