2012 China Drug Control Volunteer Long Distance Auto Tour holds press conference

On June 2, 2012, China Drug Control Volunteer Long Distance Auto Tour held a press conference at the square to the north of Yongdingmen Gate in Beijing.

This Long Distance Auto Tour, which kicked off in June, 2012, will last more than two months with a total distance of 5,600 kilometers. During this period of time, volunteers will travel through Shandong province, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai to carry out anti-drug publicities.

A temporary post office was set up for this event and commemorative postmarks, envelopes as well as postcards were specially designed for the Long Distance Auto Tour.

China Drug Control Volunteer Long Distance Auto Tour, which was initiated in 2004, has had six long distance trips to many provinces for anti-drug publicity and has obtained very good social responses.

At the press conference Liu Yuanyuan, a famous Chinese singer and image ambassador of anti-drug publicity, put forward an anti-drug proposal calling for all responsible citizens to say “no” to drugs.

Zhang Bing, the deputy director of Beijing Public Security Bureau, passed to Liu Yuanyuan the fire lamp, a symbol of the transmission of anti-drug publicity.

Finally, all the volunteers of the Drug Control Long Distance Auto Tour read out the vow for Drug Control Volunteer Long Distance Auto Tour.
