HOHHOT, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Four workers were killed in a coal mine accident on Sunday in north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, officials confirmed on Monday.

The accident happened at 4 p.m. in the state-owned Zhongtian Hechuang Hulusu Coal Mine in Uxin Banner in Ordos city, said authorities with the region's safety inspection bureau.

According to preliminary investigation, it was caused by the collapse of safety gears when the four were doing reconstruction work.
