3 dead, 7 injured in SW China pile-up

GUIYANG, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Three people died and seven others were injured in a road accident involving over 10 vehicles on an expressway in southwest China's Guizhou province on Sunday, rescuers said.

The pile-up happened at 1:30 p.m. after a truck overturned in Taijiang county on a section of the expressway linking the city of Kaili with Yuping Dong autonomous county, according to a rescuer at the scene.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital, and it was not known yet whether their injuries were life-threatening, he said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
