Muliti-pileup causes casualties on E. China highway

NANJIN, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Casualties are feared in a multi-pileup involving a coach and several other vehicles on an expressway in east China city of Xuzhou Saturday morning, according to the local traffic police.

The source said a dozen of injured people have been sent to hospital, but rescuers are still searching for other passengers in the crashed vehicles.

The accidents happened at around 7:40 a.m., when the expressway section was shrouded in a dense fog, the police said.
