A Jeep owner was cheated 30,000 yuan by buying a fake limited-edition Jeep Compass which turned out not to have two security configurations.
On the first day of 2010, Mr. Dong bought a 2009 Jeep Compass Limited Edition imported with original packaging in a car sales 4S shop named Beijing Zhongjindaoda. According to the store, this limited edition has been equipped with two important devices: TMP digital tire pressure monitoring system and secondary side airbags for front seats, which cost another 30,000 yuan compared to others cars. Mr. Dong eventualy struck a deal with the store at the price of 257,900 yuan.
However, Mr. Dong couldn't find the monitoring system when he drove. The technician at the store couldn't find the monitoring system. Mr. Dong was told later that the system had not been installed. What's worse, it was also confirmed that the front seat air bags were not installed either.
Mr. Dong argued the shop had intentionally concealed the truth while selling the car and asked for a solution. The store refused to install the two security configurations or change for a Jeep with those configurations Mr. Dong proposed.
