Microblogs help check fire hazards in Guangzhou

The fire department in Guangzhou has set up a fire hazards reporting and complaint center, and encouraged netizens to report fire hazards in public places through microblog.

In the four months since the system was established, the fire department has received more than 1,000 reports on microblogs and verified nearly 100 potential fire hazard cases.

Recently, netizens reported to the fire department in Guangzhou through microblog that potential there was fire hazards in a commercial square in Huangpu district since the cashier blocked the fire evacuation routes. Upon receiving the report, the fire department immediately went there and cleaned up the route.
