Pupils queue up to get lunch at the classroom of Neixue Primary School in Baishan Township of Mashan County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Feb. 23, 2012. Local government of the poverty-stricken county has input 9.71 million yuan (1.54 million U.S. dollars) since May last year to build or improve dining halls in 117 primary and secondary schools. Companies and charity organizations also joined in the program to offer free lunch to rural students in Mashan. Altogether about 1.16 million primary and secondary school students in 40 counties and districts of Guangxi have benefited from the government subsidies and received free lunch since Autumn last year.
