Ding Jinjie(L), who is in the hospital for severe kidney disease, marries Li Haili on Valentine's Day, in his hospital ward. Unable to afford a new kidney, Ding has to spend all his time in the hospital to receive dialysis. The hospital allowed Ding to have his wedding there to encourage the couple to keep the faith in their lives.(Xinhua/Cui Jian)

Could not some really serious criminal be prepared to donate his, either because he no longer requires it, as once used to be the case even with no need for the criminal′s consent, or possibly in exchange for commutation of his penalty
