As of Feb. 6, the drought has left 60,000 people in Dongchuan short of drinking water, making a total of 22,002 people and 10,277 livestock depend on trucks that transport drinking water. In addition, 58 square kilometers of woodland has been affected; a total of 552 water cellars and 16 dams have dried up.

Due to the continuous drought, more than 50 people in a village named Hamajing in Dongchuan have had to carry water themselves and depend on water-sending trucks for three years.
