LANZHOU, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police have captured a man who allegedly shot dead three people and left eight others injured Sunday morning in northwest China's Gansu province.
Cao Jiquan, a man in his 30s, shot at the victims with a homemade gun at around 10 a.m. in Dangxian village, Huining county, said an official with the county's police department.
Initial investigation showed that it was a revenge killing as Cao had romantic and other disputes with the victims.
Cao shot himself before being nabbed by police and was sent to hospital.
The injured victims have been hospitalized and are in stable condition, according to a local hospital, where they are being treated.
Police also captured three homemade guns and several bullets on the scene of the killing.
Cao is a resident registered in Lanzhou, the provincial capital. Dangyan village is his hometown.
Police are still probing the case.
