Cold wave takes its toll on animal husbandry

Local herdsman Bulag offers water for the livestock in a village of Sonid Zuoqi, Xilin Gol Meng, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Feb. 4, 2012. As the cold wave of winter swept Inner Mongolia and brought gale winds and plunging temperature, the grassland was covered by snow and ice. Many livestock raised by local herdsmen were killed due to shortage of food. (Xinhua/Na Risong)
