7 killed after van plunges off cliff in SW China

KUNMING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were killed after their van fell off a cliff on Saturday in southwest China's Yunnan province, local government said on Sunday.

The van, with seven people on board, plunged off a cliff at around 5:40 p.m. Saturday after being hit by another van from the behind in Luquan Yi and Miao autonomous county, said a spokesman with the county's information office.

The seven were killed on the spot and the van was severely damaged, said the spokesman.

Police are still probing how the accident happened.
