Car-truck collision kills four in central China

09:06, December 26, 2011

ZHENGZHOU, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- A highway accident involving three vehicles has left four people dead, and another two seriously injured in central China's Henan Province on the Christmas Eve, rescuers said Sunday.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. Saturday on a highway in Luoshan County, when two cars rear-ended the same truck in a row, killing four in the cars instantly, local fire fighting authorities said.

The two injured people have been sent to a local hospital, remaining in serious conditions, they said.

An initial investigation said the unduly fast speed of the two cars should be blamed for the fatality.
