China has the largest viewer group of a single nation, according to 2011 China Network Audio-Visual Industry Forum held in Shanghai recently.

The 2011 China Network Audio-Visual Industry Report, released at the forum, revealed that the number of Chinese online video users will reach 394 million this year, and this number is expected to hit 445 million in 2012, significantly larger than 158 million which is the amount of U.S. online video users in this year. This means China has owned the largest video user group within a single country.

According to Luo Jianhui, chief of Network Audio-Visual Programs Management Department of the State Administration of Radio Film and Television, the number of IPTV users in three-network integration pilot areas of China has reached 3.5 million. As one of the pilot cities, Shanghai has become the city with most IPTV users all over the world.
