First snow falls in Beijing

BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Beijing experienced its first snow this winter on Friday morning, disrupting the city's traffic in rush hour.

The Beijing Meteorological Station issued a latest forecast of the snow in Beijing at 6:55 a.m., providing a warning about dangerous road conditions and extended gridlock.

The station also reported the snow is expected to last till 10 a.m., with a daily maximum temperature of four degrees.

When the snow fell in London in 1976 after many many years many were happy about it. I was a student there and enjoyed the sight of the falling snow. Clean air in Beijing now. Compare to the time pre-2008, this must be a wonderful sight and hope it will continue for many years to come.
