ZHENGZHOU, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- All the 12 people, including 10 children, on a kindergarten school bus which collided with a truck in central China's Henan province Tuesday afternoon, have been saved, local fire department officials said.

The number of the injured has not been confirmed but most of them only suffered slight injuries, according to the firefighters involved in the rescue operation.

The accident happened at 3:41 p.m. on a section of the No. 106 national highway in Beijinzhai village, Puyang county, when a school bus loaded with 10 children and a teacher besides the driver ran into a truck.

Local firefighters rushed to the site immediately after the accident. The school bus was seriously damaged, according to the firefighters.

An initial investigation showed that wet and slippery road would be to blame for the accident.

Most parts of Henan province have been hit by rain and snow since Monday. Puyang county, where the accident took place, was battered by small bursts of hail and mild snow on Tuesday.
