Beijing, Nov. 1 (PD Online) -- Taiwan is experiencing a "population crisis" because 30 percent of the post-90s generation will have no children, according to the latest speculation of Taiwan's Committee for Economic Development.

With the birth rate declining, Taiwan's Committee for Economic Development predicted that Taiwan is expected to surpass Japan to become the world's "oldest" region in 22 years.

The committee speculated that the aging process of Taiwan's population will speed up noticeably 10 years from now. Within 40 years, the island's Aging Index will grow 5.71 fold and the aging rate will become the world's fastest.
