China Southern Airlines will fly China's first Airbus A380 on Oct. 15, the airline announced yesterday.

China's first Airbus A380 will take off in Toulouse in France on Oct. 14 and arrive at Beijing on the morning of Oct. 15. After testing, it will be put into use on Oct. 17.

The A380's maiden flight is scheduled to fly on routes between Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai as an introductory tour, and then it will service international routes.

For the introductory tour, it will fly between Beijing and Guangzhou from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26. And it will begin regular daily services between Beijing and Shanghai from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29.

China Southern, the only Chinese customer of the super jumbo jet, has ordered five A380s in total. It is also the seventh operator worldwide.

The double-decker plane will have eight first-class seats, 70 business seats and 428 in coach. The prices for the first-class and business seats are 280 percent and 230 percent, respectively, of the cost of a coach ticket.

The testing of flights should be done between Europe and China until it is certified safe; and only then it flies within Chinese cities. Otherwise, Chinese is using Chinese to test as gurney pigs for Europeans!
