ZHENGZHOU, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Police in central China's Henan Province announced on Wednesday that they had arrested two suspects in connection to the fatal stabbing of a TV journalist.

The Public Security Bureau in Luoyang City issued a notice saying the two suspects were alleged to have stabbed Li Xiang, a 30-year-old Luoyang TV reporter, to death at around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police declined to give further details, saying the case was still under investigation.

Witnesses said Li was walking home after parking his car when an unknown assailant stabbed him near the gate of his residential community.

The Zhengzhou Evening News reported that Li was stabbed over 10 times. His laptop was also reported missing. But the details have not been confirmed by police.

Li previously worked on a story about "gutter oil," or oil that is extracted from restaurant waste facilities and reprocessed for sale to restaurants.
