BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Three trains were halted due to power shutdown triggered by chemical leak from a truck which was running in a parallel road overturned on Sunday afternoon in northwest Gansu Province, the Ministry of Railways said Sunday.

The accident happened at 16:40 when the truck loaded with silicon tetrachloride overturned. Chemical leak mixed with rain eroded the railway's contact net, leading to power shutdown, the ministry said. The truck was 70 meters away from the rail track, and three kilometers away from the three trains, the ministry said.

Passengers' health was not affected, the ministry said.

Repair efforts were temporarily hampered by the leaked gas.
