Yesterday, the Shanghai Expo Development Group signed a cooperation agreement with French company Enterprise Rhone-Alpes International covering post-expo use of the Rhone-Alpes Pavilion, marking the start of the post-expo development of the Urban Best Practices area.

The French company's decision makes it the first organization to settle in the Urban Best Practices area in the post-expo era. This move is also seen as one of the important events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the friendship between the Rhone-Alpes region and Shanghai city,

The Shanghai Expo Development Group plans to divide the Urban Best Practices area into two open blocks that highlight cultural exchange and creativity. The buildings in the north block will be rented to companies from the creative industry as offices, while the south block is to be home to cultural activities and art exhibitions.

The transformation work has started, and the post-expo use of pavilions will be business-oriented. According to the group, the Urban Best Practices area is scheduled to operate in the second quarter of next year.
