To promote the construction of people-oriented intelligent cities, Beijing released an intelligent city index system to provide a reference for China intelligent city construction.

The intelligent city is an effective integration of information technology and advanced concepts of city operation and service by digitally managing geography, natural resources, the environment and economy to provide a convenient, efficient, flexible and innovative public administration.

This system includes three first-class indexes — the happiness index, the social management index and the social responsibility index — 23 second-class indexes, 86 third-class indexes and 362 fourth-class indexes. It is the first intelligent city index system in China proposed by the China Intelligent Project Research Institute.
