From January to June in 2011, a total of 84 Chinese central enterprises donated nearly 1.3 billion yuan, according to the statistics released by China's State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration on Aug. 24.
The donations of the 84 central enterprises include the relief donation of nearly 362 million yuan, accounting for 28.5 percent; public welfare donations of nearly 800 million yuan, accounting for 62.8 percent, and other donations of 111 million yuan, accounting for nearly 8.8 percent.
In addition, of the 84 central enterprises' relief donations, the donation provided to poverty reduction work in specific areas is nearly 297 million yuan, and the donations provided to disaster-stricken areas is nearly 65.2 million yuan.
Meanwhile, of the 84 central enterprises' public welfare donations, the donations provided to undertakings in aspects such as education, culture, health care and sports is nearly 109 billion yuan.
