200 people missing off E China coast

More than 10 fishing boats with about 200 people on board were missing off east China's coast Saturday morning, local authorities said.

The ships were on their way from Hong Kong's Lantau Island to Ningbo Port in East China's Zhejiang province, according to Shandong provincial flood control headquarters.

The ships were registered in Weihai City of Shandong Province.

The exact numbers of the missing ships and people on board are still unavailable.

Searches for the missing ships are ongoing.
