The "Zheng He" oceangoing training ship of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) arrived at the Cairns Port, Australia, on the morning of August 22, 2012, local time, for a three-day-long in-port rest and replenishment.

The Cairns Port is an important commercial port and naval patrol base on the northeast coast of Australia.

During its in-port rest and replenishment, the "Zheng He" training ship is scheduled to focus on material replenishment and equipment maintenance. The midshipmen and soldiers on the ship will go out for visit in batches.

Cairns is the 12th stop of the training ship's global voyage. This is the 5th time for the Chinese naval ships and the 2nd time for the "Zheng He" ship to visit Australia.

The "Zheng He" training ship set sail from Dalian, a port city in northeast China, to start its "harmonious mission—round-the-world tour" on April 16.
