PLA abacus and mental arithmetic team reaps four consecutive world championships

The Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) realized four consecutive championships in the categories of contestant group and cadet Group A in the 4th World Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition recently held in Jinan of east China's Shandong province.

A total of 150-plus contestants from over 20 countries and regions, including South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan, participated in this year's competition.

PLA contestants Wang Tongjing, Xu Meiduo and Fu Haidong swept all the first three prizes in the category of contestant group. Wang Dasheng and Xu Yan in the cadet Group A took over the championship and the second prize by exceeding the third-prize winner by 350 points and 170 points respectively.
