Jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the General Staff Headquarters (GSH) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), the first summer school of military science for graduates was recently finished at the National Defense University (NDU) of the PLA. A total of 120 graduates majoring in science of campaigns, science of tactics, science of army command and science of military training as well as some young teachers from 49 graduate education institutes of military science of the PLA participated in the study.
Themed by "the new development of foreign militaries' operational theories and its enlightenment for the PLA", the summer school offers five monographic studies and nearly 40 courses.
Famous military and local scholars were invited to the summer school to teach the basic theories of operational command of foreign militaries and the latest research results. Several high-ranking foreign military officers studying in China were also invited to introduce the combat theories of their countries for the graduates of the summer school.
