Chen Yong meets with president of Romania National Defense University

Chen Yong, assistant to chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Teodor Frunzeti, president of the National Defense University of Romania, on the afternoon of July 11, 2012 in Beijing.

  Chen Yong said that China-Romania relations have witnessed all-around and steady development in recent years as evidenced by frequent contacts of high-ranking officials of the two countries, increasingly deepened political mutual trust, good communication and cooperation in international affairs and fruitful results from the cooperation in various fields. The relations between the two militaries have developed steadily as evidenced by increasingly rich cooperation contents and constantly improved cooperation structure, which has played a positive role in promoting the construction and development of the two militaries. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the friendly and cooperative relations with the Romanian military, and is willing to make joint efforts with the Romanian side to deepen the pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries and add new connotations to the relations between the two countries.

  Frunzeti said that China is an important cooperative partner of Romania. The Romanian side hopes to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation at all levels and in all fields between the two militaries, in a bid to promote Romania-China comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership to a new high.

  Li Ji, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China, and Antonio Marinescu, Romania's military attaché to China, were present at the meeting.
