The officers and men of the 12th escort taskforce under the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), who will soon head for the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast to implement their escort mission, held a mass-pledge and mobilization meeting on the morning of July 2, 2012 in the auditorium of a naval port in Zhoushan of east China's Zhejiang province.

Zhou Xuming, commander of the 12th Chinese naval escort taskforce and deputy chief of staff of the East China Sea Fleet of the Chinese PLA Navy, said the 12th Chinese naval escort taskforce carefully studied and analyzed the characteristics of the current Somali pirates' activities and launched some mission-oriented training. As a result, the troop unit's capability of escort-operation implementation has been remarkably upgraded.
