PLA and APF soldiers' college entrance examinations on general knowledge start

It is learnt from the Admission Office of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) that the entrance examinations on general knowledge for the colleges and academies of the PLA and the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF) will start on June 7, 2012. Nearly 30,000 soldiers will participate in the two-day-long national examinations on general knowledge from June 7 to 8, 2012.

It is said that 65 percent of the soldiers participating in the national examinations graduated from high schools, 24 percent from junior colleges, 1 percent from correspondence schools and 10 percent are college students.

It is learnt that 6,000 soldiers will be enrolled by 40 PLA and APF colleges and academies as planned. Over 900 students graduating from junior colleges will be enrolled by 9 of the 40 colleges and academies and they will receive undergraduate education, majoring mainly in junior command and a few in engineering technologies.
