BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held a consultative meeting to solicit opinions on economic work from non-CPC representatives.
The meeting was presided over by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on July 25.
Following an overall keynote of making progress through stability, the country has been deepening economic reform and opening up, promoting the transformation of economic growth mode, strengthening and improving macro control, and raising the quality and efficiency of economic growth, Xi said.
It is especially heartening that there have been further developments in the "progress" of the keynote to achieve progress through stability, as the economic growth mode transformation has quickened with more shining points, Xi said.
"We have stressed focusing on improving quality and efficiency, and stressed boosting the transformation of economic growth mode and economic restructuring, through reform and opening up," Xi said.
"These ideas have been accepted by more and more regions and enterprises. The sense of urgency to use a market mechanism to retro-enforce economic restructuring has strengthened remarkably," Xi said.
Xi thanked the non-CPC members for their efforts to conduct research in fields such as financial reform, technological innovation, urban-rural coordination, social management, public services and pollution treatment.
Their opinions and suggestions have played a key role in the country's scientific decision-making and policy execution, Xi said.
While affirming all the achievements, the country must remain sober-minded to deeply understand, and pay much attention to, the outstanding conflicts and problems in economic performance, as well as international economic situation, and insist on a "bottom-line mentality," Xi said.
