Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国科学技术部)

National Population and Family Planning Commission of People’s Republic of China is established as a department under the State Council responsible for the administration of China’s family planning.

The main responsibilities of the ministry are: working out drafts of laws and regulations and policy provisions for population and family planning work; working out drafts of national population development plans; putting forward policy proposals on the coordinated and sustainable development between population and economy, society, resources and environment; carrying out researches on population development strategies; engage in implementing medium and long-term plans, annual plans and institutional development plans of the national population and family planning program.
