Hu pledges continuous support for Macao's development: Chui

MACAO, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chui Sai On said here Sunday that Chinese President Hu Jintao had pledged the central government will continue to support the development of the region.

Chui, who just finished a two-day visit to Hong Kong for celebrations marking the 15th anniversary of the territory's return to China, told the press President Hu fully recognized the work of the Macao SAR government and expressed the hope that the SAR government should continue to improve the livelihood of local residents.

Chui said that during his meeting with President Hu, he had briefed him the work of the SAR government in the first half of this year.
