Chinese Premier leaves to visit European nations

BEIJING, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Beijing on Friday for official visits to Iceland, Sweden and Poland and attending a world-leading industrial expo in Germany.

Wen is making the visits at the invitations of Icelandic Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Wen's entourage includes Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhang Ping, Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei, Minister of Land and Resources Xu Shaoshi, Minister of Environmental Protection Zhou Shengxian, Commerce Minister Chen Deming, Director of the Research Office of the State Council Xie Fuzhan, Vice Secretary-General of the State Council and Director of the Premier's Office Xiang Zhaolun and Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao.
