BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin has called for efforts to develop the country's real economy while strengthening the construction of the ecological environment.

Jia made the remarks during an inspection tour of Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday, during which he visited various districts, high-tech and economic zones, enterprises as well as ecological parks.

Jia stressed the importance of the real economy, saying that only if the virtual economy serves and bases itself in the real economy, can it be of vitality.

To boost the real economy, the government should strengthen its support for small and medium-sized enterprises, Jia argued.

Meanwhile, increased efforts should be put into making breakthroughs in key technologies and promoting commercialization and industrialization of technological results, Jia said.
