A Beijing-based non-governmental organization that aims to disseminate Marxism will donate 55 Chinese-language editions of "The Communist Manifesto" to the Karl Marx House museum in Germany to mark the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The donation includes six of the earliest full translation editions published before October 1949, according to Fan Qiangming, founder of the Beijing Communist Exhibition Cultural Communication (BCECC).

It also includes two rare editions translated by Chen Wangdao, the first person to translate the book into Chinese, as well as those by other renowned Chinese scholars.

Written jointly by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in February 1848, the Manifesto was hailed as the first guideline for scientific socialism.

"The donation aims to show respect for Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels... and promote exchanges between us and the Karl Marx House," said Fan, adding that he will deliver the donation to Germany himself within this year.

Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 in the German city of Trier, where the museum is located.
