The Saudia Arabia pavilion is expected to reopen to the public in October, said Ding Hao, president of the Expo Development Group. In order to ensure the safety of tourists, the pavilion will open only to group visitors at the beginning of its test run.

The boat-shaped Saudi Arabia pavilion, one of the most popular pavilions during the Expo, has a total investment of over 1 billion yuan. During the Expo, people had to wait as long as eight hours to enter the pavilion, which features a huge cinema screen and an amazing view on the rooftop. The Saudi Arabia pavilion was awarded for its creative display at the closing ceremony of Shanghai World Expo. In May 2011, the pavilion was handed over to Shanghai municipality.
