Automobile owners get gov't subsidies for scrapping obsolete vehicles

Cars run on the Second Ring Road in Beijing, capital of China, Aug. 1, 2011. From Aug. 1 until the end of 2012, automobile owners will receive 2,500 RMB yuan (386 U.S. dollars) to 14,500 yuan (2,241 dollars) government subsidies for scrapping obsolete vehicles. And another allowance ranging from 2,000 (309 dollars) to 10,000 yuan (1,546 dollars) will be granted by vehicle companies for new vehicle purchases. (Xinhua/Wang Zhen)
