2,562nd birthday of Confucius marked around China

Students recite excerpts of the Analects of Confucius during a ceremony commemorating the 2,562nd birthday of Confucius (551-479 BC), a great Chinese thinker, educationist and philosopher, in Quzhou of east China's Zhejiang Province, Sept. 28, 2011. Local teachers and students and the presidents of 10 Confucius Institutes in 9 countries and regions participated in the ceremony. (Xinhua/Huang Zongzhi)
