Taihu fishing boats set sail again

On Aug. 28, a fisherman casts fishing nets at the ceremony that marks the start of fishing season in Taihu Lake near Suzhou city of eastern China's Jiangsu province. A magnificent annual event that celebrates the end of the annual fishing ban for Taihu Lake kicked off in Suzhou, attracting many tourists from home and abroad to view the fishing festivities and experience the original culture and nature of Taihu Lake. It is learned that the ancient fishing tradition and culture are still maintained in the fishing villages around Taihu Lake. (Xinhua/Zhu Guigen)
