Japan, China join hands to mourn Nanjing Massacre victims

On Aug.15, 2011, more than 100 people, including Nanjing citizens, experts with the Nanjing International Peace Research Institute and Japanese citizens, attended an international peaceful assembly in Nanjing to mourn for more than 300,000 victims killed in the Nanjing Massacre and pray for eternal world peace.

The peaceful assembly was held in front of the Memorial Hall of the Victims in the Nanjing Massacre. After attendees laid wreaths and expressed condolences to the dead, the director of the Memorial Hall said that the purpose of this commemorative activity is to remind people not to forget the history and draw on historical experience. He also added that we should never allow the tragedy repeat itself.
