Pakistan raises security alert after blasts

Pakistani policemen check vehicles at a police check post in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, on Aug. 15, 2011, due to security high alert after blasts in Dera Allah Yar and Charsadda. At least 14 people were killed and 20 others injured Sunday in a remote-controlled blast that hit a hotel in the southwestern Pakistani province of Balochistan. Another blast reported on Monday morning ripped through a preaching center in Charsadda, in which at least 6 people were injured. (Xinhua/Saeed Ahmad)
