Shanghai (CNS) -- A plan to shoot a series of short films based on Tang Dynasty poems was launched in Shanghai on Sunday.
The program was launched at the ongoing 16th Shanghai International Film Festival by the China Central Newsreel & Documentary Film Studio.
The series will include 108 films adapted from 109 poems. With a running time of 15 minutes each, the films will expose viewers to the stories behind the poetry.
The program will invite 108 celebrities such as Annie Yi and Pu Cunxin to serve as directors for the films.
Famous painters like Liu Dawei will also be invited to paint the titles of the films.
Shooting is to be completed in October this year.
