April 1st is the 10th anniversary of the death of Hong Kong pop singer and movie idol, Leslie Cheung. Exhibitions, concerts and tribute events have been held in the city to mark his death.
Fans carried photo albums near wreaths at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where Cheung leapt to his death. Many singers took part in the memorial concert on the eve of the anniversary. Cheung launched his singing career in 1977. He’s considered as "one of the founding fathers of Cantopop". He recorded more than 30 albums and appeared in nearly 60 movies.
