Xi'an hosts folk video festival

The Third China Xi'an International Folk Video Festival started on Sept 6 in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province.

The event, sponsored by Shaanxi Culture Industry Investment Holdings, aims to showcase videos and photos made by folk artists and promote international exchanges.

The festival received 14,696 works from all over the world, of which 50 works received awards at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition of the videos and photos will be held from Sept 9 to Nov 30. A forum and a display of international animation films will also be held during the festival.

The event's first edition was in October 2010.
