The annual conference of International Association of East-West Studies was held

The first annual conference of the International Association of East-West Studies was held on August 12 and 13 in Nantong city, Jiangsu Province. Scholars majored in East-West philosophies gathered together and discussed the significance of cross-cultural communication and the challenges it faces today.

More than 30 scholars, including Chen Lai, the president of Tsinghua Academy of Chinese , California Polytechnic University professor Ding Zijiang, and Hong Kong City University professor Zhang Longxi, carried out heated discussions on the status quo of contemporary East-West philosophy, research methodology and the challenges in cross-culture translation and development tendency of global informatization. Representatives of Internet media like Tencent, Sohu and Ifeng, and the director of World Chinese Weekly also attended the meeting. They explored how mass media could promote East-West studies and what is the function of new media in academic communication. The conference was sponsored by the International Association of East-West Studies, hosted by Jiangsu Alphay Biological Technology Co., Ltd and China Educational Information Online.
