(People's Daily Online)

09:30, July 31, 2012

A heavy rainstorm hit Beijing on July 21, leaving 16,000 square kilometers and 1.9 million people affected by the disaster. On July 22, the bodies of 37 victims were found. Facing the rising trend of extreme weather, people must always pay attention to the latest weather reports and early-warning information as well as actively learn self-protection measures for various weather conditions to deal with emergencies.

Especially, in the city, when a driver finds a water pool under an overpass, the driver should stop the car or go around it. In mountainous areas, people should pay close attention to the flood and other geological disasters caused by the heavy rain. When a rain storm is coming, people should know how to protect themselves and escape dangers.
