9th China Folk Art Festival held in Gansu

The 9th China Folk Art Festival will be held in Pingliang, Gansu province from September 12 to September 15, according to a press briefing in Beijing on Sunday. The theme of the festival is "Beautiful Kongtong Mountain". The festival aims to combine the Chinese folk art exhibition and tourism promotion of Pingliang, located on the Silk Road.

During the festival, the Kongtong Culture & Travel Festival will also be held. Two festivals will host more than 30 activities including Chinese folk art performance, Kongtong Mountain folk songs collecting and a folk art heritage tour among students from top ten schools.

China Folk Art Festival is the largest national folk cultural event in China and was launched in 1989. It has made great contributions to preserve Chinese folk culture and promote the development of tourism.
